organized session submission

The program for ANTEM 2018 will include Special Sessions that complement the traditional program with new and emerging topics of interest to the Antenna and Electromagnetics community. The aim of a special session is to provide an overview of the state-of-the-art as well as to highlight current research directions and challenges. Inquiries about Special Sessions and submissions of Special Session proposals can be sent to Dr. George Shaker, gshaker@uwaterloo.ca.

Prospective organizers of Special Sessions should submit proposals indicating:

  • Title of the Special Session
  • Motivation, indicating the novelty of the topic and why it is timely.
  • Short biography of the organizers.
  • List of eight (8) contributed papers (including titles, authors, contact information of the corresponding author, and a short abstract of each contribution). Each organizer may not contribute more than one paper, and the organizers should contact the authors of contributed papers and secure their participation prior to submission of the proposal.

Only a maximum of three organizers per Special Session is allowed.

Proposals will be evaluated based on the timeliness and attractiveness of the topic as well as on the qualifications of the organizers and the authors of the contributed papers.

Special session proposals are due by December 1st, 2017, and notification of accepted proposals will be on December 8th, 2017. Special session papers are due by March 31st, 2018. Papers will be made available on IEEE Xplore

The papers in each accepted Special Session will undergo a review process identical to that of regular papers. It is the responsibility of the organizers to ensure that their Special-Session papers meet ANTEM quality standards. In case a paper in a Special Session does not meet the expected quality, it will be rejected, and an effort will be made to draw papers from the regular-submission process to fill the gap.

Authors who have been invited to submit a paper to a Special Session can submit their 2-page paper via the online submission, by choosing the Special Session on the Topics (drop down menu). The format of all submissions is PDF and must be created according to IEEE specifications.
